Rainbow Fall on the road

Rainbow Fall on the road
Last September when I went back to my mum's place and around 5pm I saw this rainbow fall exactly on the road. This is something I never see before. Then I rush to get my camera which I left inside the house and took few shoots before it start to fade and gone. it was not long, just intime for me to get that few shoots. This is the reason why you must have a camera with you all the time, no need to be DSLR. a compact also do. You never know whats coming.

It start with my computer got infected with virus, I bought a new external hard disk to back up my photos. I then formated my computer which now back to normal but!... Damn that external hard disk that I put many of my photos suddenly cannot be open. It kept telling unreadable or corrupted. C did tried to help but the same still. I hope I can still recover my data inside, I going back to the shop in Karamunsing where I bought it. You think is there any chance to recover that?

Bronzeback Snake Close up

I recently manage to capture a snake swallowing
a frog bigger than its head size. This is how close
I was to the snake. I reckon the snake has a mild
venom, not enough to kill a human but enough for
it's prey.

I finished 2G memory cards in just few minute. Keep
shooting. Below is one of the result shot I captured.

Haze Season

::click image for large view::
This morning on the way to Kinabalu Park, I can see the mountain very clear no cloud. For the Dusun people who live on the foot hill of the mountain, it is the sign of planting season. I can see on the far hill some smoke going up to the atmosphere and I know that is the starting of the hazy season I would say. I remember last year I was very frustrated with the condition where I couldn't get the blue skies everytime I go out for my photo outing. During this planting season, the farmers will make land clearing and burn out the bushes resulting haze condition all over. Day will become very hot, temperature rising up and the sun light could not penetrate the haze creating a moody condition. It is not only in Sabah but also the whole island of Borneo. Kalimantan Indonesia also having the same thing as in Sabah where farmers do land clearing and burn bushes. At the moment it is still clear and still got the blue sky but hazy season will be coming soon.

The images above was taken last year during haze season, be prepared.

New Bridge for Poring Canopy Walkway

If you haven't update yourself with a recent news
about the canopy walkway in Poring Hotspring, I
posted these photos for you to view. The park
ranger taking out
the rope, net, planks
and ladder on the 1st
bridge after the
1st platform was
destroyed by the
big fallen branch,
slightly above the
platform. So at the
moment visitor
has to start from
the original ending
platform for the
walk and must return
back to where they
started. This way
cause visitor have to
wait for their turn
to go on the bridge.
The original starting platform was now has put down
and move to another different place. The branch was
fell from a big tree,(arrow).
Soon there will be another
two bridges will be added
to existing bridge. The work
placing the cable and rope
has already been started
so may be it will be another
2 month to finish and open
for public visitors. At the
moment people have to be
patients for the condition
that they had to wait for
a turn to go on the bridge
by waiting for people to
come back 1st from
crossing the bridge.

The
Arrow
show
where
the
new
bridge
will be
built. The
new
bridge will
make
the
length of the bridge even longer than before.
Work in progress for the two new bridges.

I will post again with any news about places of interest
in Sabah soon. You can bookmark my blog by simply

21 June- Salut area Flooding

Me and John was on the way back from our photo trip in Mesilau. We were redirected in Giling area at Tuaran Road due to flood. So we took the other route, the one passing Rasa Ria Resort.
When we passed the big bridge of Mengkabong River, this is what infront of us.
An unexpected long traffic jammed!
It was about 0603pm that time and the traffic seems to be not moving at all, a solid jammed.
John was in a hurry to go back home because of he has to attend a dinner at 7pm invited by Malaysia Tourism in Kota Kinabalu. At that time we never expect there was a flood infront of us because of that area was quite high for a flood. I was the driver that time and I feel bad if John was late for his dinner so I decided to over take all the cars infront of us.I think I did over taking more than 30 cars but still in the end stuck again. We were stuck in the traffic jammed until the day become dark.
Then after almost 1 hour slowly driving then we start can see the place where flood happen. There are alot of cars that cannot pass through like kancil, kelisa, wira lowered just stop in the middle of the road and causes the traffic cannot move at all (Budu). We were driving a Nissan Safari with a snorkel on so no problem for our car to pass the flood so we decided to go ahead of them. When driving through the flood, there are few cars having a difficult moment when their engine stopped in the middle of the flood. I manage to get some shots of people with their umbrella who walking through the flood (Abstract Shot). Seems like people enjoy them self by just looking at other people stuck cannot move.
We manage to get through with any problem on the flood. The stalls on the side of the road I think getting a good business that time with many people who cannot pass the flood just park their car on the side of the road and go have some drinks or snack or even dinner may be in that stall since it was around dinner time already.
After we pass the flood, still not easy to get out of the place because there are more traffic jammed in front of us. It was cause by a cars that trying to over take from the other side of the road (Budu butul). There are traffic polis working that time but cannot control the situation alone so I think he decided to go away from the place. In the end we were out from that place but it is already almost 8pm so not so good for John as he cannot attend the dinner. He need to get change, take a shower, make up and so on. He sent me back home first in Likas then he go back. Haaaa.. Back home at last feel tired.( trus tidur teda mandi :p).
I hope the tour buses that trying to get through manage to get on time to the airport that time. Because I can see some "Bus Persiaran" heading Kota Kinabalu.
